AudienceThe presentations and labs have been designed specifically to give professional developers and database administrators—those who work for an ISV, SI, or enterprise customer—the information they need to deliver reporting solutions on the Microsoft BI platform. It is also designed for any combination of end-users (power users), business analysts, and professional developers. This course is also relevant and useful for those interested to understand and evaluate Microsoft’s Reporting Services offerings. While based on SQL Server 2008 R2, the course is equally applicable to those working with SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2005. Differences in the versions will be highlighted.

 

Prerequisites
The following skills and knowledge will help attendees have a positive experience in the workshop:
  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational database technology
  • Basic understanding of working with Microsoft Exce

  • How to manage, schedule and cache SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services reports.
  • How to use SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services and Report Builder to develop ad hoc relational reports that simplify access to business-critical information.
    How to use Microsoft Excel and Excel Services to develop ad hoc reporting solutions from data stored in SQL Server 2008 R2 data stores and data warehouses.
  • How to use PowerPivot to load and analyse large amounts of data and to provide high quality analytical reports.
