The IT market is maturing. The Computer Science and Computer Engineering degrees provide excellent background about IT to thousands of students around the world. Microsoft and other IT companies provide specific certifications related to their products and technologies.

However, in this always changing and evolving technology world, it became more and more difficult to evaluate the IT skills of current or potential employees. As simple as it might sound, the data mentioned in a resume could be correct, almost correct, exaggerated, or simply false.

Standard IT certifications are typically computer based. Some vendors provide training kits that teach how the technology works, which eventually could lead to passing the certification exam, after obtaining some practical experience. In fact, some professionals from SolidQ are authors of some of the most popular Microsoft Training Kits.

However, some resources provide easy shortcuts that teach people how to pass the certification exams, without needing to learn much about the technology. 

The problem is not in the exams; the problem is caused by the unfortunate lack of professionalism of some people who prefer an easy way to certification, learning only how to pass the certification exam, and not necessarily learning how the technology works.  

We value the Microsoft Certifications, although they are not sufficient to prove expertise on a specific topic. We greatly value the Microsoft Certified Master (MCM) certification, due to its high level of quality. In fact, some of our mentors are MCM official trainers.

Having said all this, we believe in a very simple fact: it is very difficult to fool a professional in a one-on-one personal exam. So, we want to make sure that when we provide a professional with a SolidQ Certified Professional certification is because one or more of our experts personally verified that this person really knows how this particular technology works. Nobody gets a SolidQ Certification without passing this personal test. Nobody.

A professional does not need to attend any specific course to prepare for the certification exam. In fact, there isn't any training kit or certification course or boot camp to prepare for these exams, and there will never be (at least not from SolidQ).

We will publish the specific topics and skills that will be tested in each certification exam, and we expect professionals to have enough knowledge and experience to make sure that they can convince our experts about their readiness to obtain the certification.

SolidQ Certifications will be eventually combined to form higher certification levels, in a very similar way as college credits work to obtain a college degree. However, each certification individually will stands by its own value, proving customers the professional value of the certification holder on that particular technology.

Exams will be provided online or in present, in a selection of different languages, to facilitate the certification anywhere, anytime, and for every professional in the world, regardless of its location.
